Overview

This tour links three of Bali’s most photographed places in one day. In the cool Bedugul highlands, Ulun Danu Beratan temple seems to float on Lake Beratan, with misty hills behind it. Further west, the wide Jatiluwih rice terraces are part of a UNESCO World Heritage cultural landscape, known for Bali’s traditional subak water system. The day ends on the coast at Tanah Lot, a sea temple on a rock that is surrounded by water at high tide, where crowds gather for the sunset.

The car is only for your group, and your driver doubles as a tour assistant who helps with tickets, photos and a lunch stop with a rice field view. It is a long day with around 2–2.5 hours of driving from South Bali to Bedugul, so it suits travellers who enjoy scenery and want to see a lot in one trip. Bring a light jacket for the highlands and comfortable shoes for the rice field walk.

  • Temples need covered shoulders and knees. A sarong and sash are required; bring your own or use one at the entrance.
  • Wear comfortable shoes for the Jatiluwih paths, which can be muddy after rain.
  • This is a long day with a lot of driving. Tell us if you prefer a shorter version, for example without Jatiluwih.

Frequently asked questions

Can we change the route?

Yes. You can skip Jatiluwih for a shorter day, add a stop such as a local market, or stay longer at any place. Your driver will help you plan what fits before sunset.

Is this tour suitable for kids?

Yes, there is little hard walking. It is a long day in the car, so plan snacks and breaks for small children.

What should I wear for temples?

Wear clothes that cover your shoulders and knees. A sarong and sash are required at temples; you can bring your own or use one at the entrance.

What if it rains?

Rain is common in Bedugul, but the tour usually goes ahead. Your driver can change the order of stops, and a cloudy evening may mean a softer sunset at Tanah Lot.
