Overview

Lovina, on Bali’s quiet north coast, is known for its early-morning dolphin trips. Small local boats head out around sunrise, when the sea is usually calm, and wait in the area where wild dolphins often feed and swim. Many mornings the dolphins come close to the boats, but they are wild animals, so sightings are likely but never guaranteed.

Because Lovina is about 3 hours’ drive from South Bali, pick-up is in the middle of the night. Your private driver takes you north while you rest in the car, and after the boat trip you can have breakfast in Lovina and add stops on the way back, such as a waterfall, the Ulun Danu Beratan lake temple or the Jatiluwih rice terraces. Good for early risers, families with older children and anyone who wants to see North Bali in one day. Tell us where you are staying and we will send the pick-up time, the plan and one fixed price on WhatsApp.

Frequently asked questions

Will we definitely see dolphins?

Not definitely. Dolphins are often seen off Lovina in the morning, but they are wild animals and sightings are never guaranteed.
